But I stuck to my price and explained why I charge what I do. They paid the first invoice and scheduled out our pre-production call. I am feeling more and more confident with sales calls and working through objections.

#wins just locked in a new client. Doing post production and a mix and master. Never done post-production for a client before so I am excited to do that for the first time. If all goes well he has other songs he wants me to fully produce. So potential for more work. A big selling point was that I'll be way faster then his other engineer who works at a label. He said his other engineer takes forever because this artist is not a priority. So I was able to use that on the sales call.

It's just the beginning
Been reaching out to just a couple of potential clients and received two deposits yesterday in just a couple of weeks of light outreach. Honestly, I thank the morning routine. As cheesy as it sounds even my wife has noticed a difference in me. First sales call!
My first proof session from doing outreach turned into a sales call. I was pretty excited and nervous about it but I just casually followed the framework and tried my best to figure out exactly what the artist really needed. The end result is my first sales call being a WIN, both of us are excited for the song and I’m getting paid a higher rate that feels right for the project. Very grateful for this group!

Just landed my first full rate client! Thank you Dark Label team for the amazing framework you've laid out for us. First 3 proof sessions
I started doing outreach just over 3 weeks ago and have managed to connect with a bunch of cool artists and land 3 proof sessions so far! I'm actually finding it really enjoyable just talking to people in the music world. I've never really sent voice messages for anything haha but I feel like they are really fun when meeting new people and are far more engaging for both the artist and myself. Grateful for everyone in this group as seeing all the posts really helps motivate me, so cheers!

Win Part 2!
Following up on the other days win, I sent over a demo for a remix to the artist and they liked it and they even wanted to do 2 remixes! I offered $600 for both and they were down! This is the first money that I have made from online producing so definitely a huge step since starting Dark Label! Thanks for all the advice, help, and encouragement from this community!

Casual Call Win!!!

3 Proof sessions
Hey guys, I've been giving outreach a proper stab this last month and it was quite challenging. I did however try different approaches, types of artists (how many followers, genre, etc...) and narrowed down to something that worked for me. The past week I had 7 proof sessions plus 1 returning client that went straight to the proposal stage. For me, some have been true proof sessions and some "proofs" have just been studio meet and greet with a little studio tour. 5 of the 7 proof sessions lead to sending them a proposal already. Another one sent me a session file for a demo they made in logic and i did a quick hour or two of production just focusing on the first verse and chorus. Mindset
Found my confidence going into my calls with potential clients. It's been a journey but thanks to James, Aaron, and Dan I have a completely different mindset with how I approach my offer. It's the small things that build up over time that lead to success. Mindset is everything so highly suggest doing an audit on what's working and what's not working internally.

I wasn't expected that!
I just have had the most surprising follow-up call! During the sales call, the artist was very hard to convince, so I was expecting the follow-up call to be just as tough. But surprisingly, the artist said right away that he had made the playlist I asked for. I reminded him that we were supposed to discuss whether or not we would continue working together, and then he quickly confirmed that he was okay with it. It was so easy that it felt like a dream! And get this - we didn't even talk about the price!

Another Important Win for Me :]
Yesterday locked in my first "Momentum Model" client. I thought I wasn't ready to pitch it, but I just went for it, and this process seems like a game-changer both for me and the client. Main takeaway: just go for it even if you don't feel confident.

Make no assumptions
Just won a project for a one-track production and mixing, for double my usual rate, It's with an ex-student in my music tech classes. Funny because I went through the process regardless but I subconsciously assumed he wouldn't have the money (being young and a student and all) and it wouldn't work out in the end. I was so wrong! He didn't bat an eyelid when I mentioned the fee and we're going ahead with it. The moral of the story: make no assumptions!
